Product Description Master Bond MasterSil 170 Gel is a two component, low viscosity silicone material for specialty potting and encapsulation. It is an addition cured system and does not require exposure to air for complete cross-linking. It has a forgiving one to one mix ratio by weight and will not outgas while curing. The system is 100% solids and contains no solvents. Upon mixing the viscosity is quite low and it has excellent flowability. It generates very little heat upon mixing and has a relatively long open time. MasterSil 170 Gel cures in 24-48 hours at ambient temperatures, or in 1-2 hours at 150-170°F. The system cures to be very soft, pliable and compliant with a hardness best measured by the penetration test method; for this system it is 65 mm.
