The MRI-NC machines have been created from the experience and success of the PULIPROM NC machines, which is based on the concept of polishing by electronic numerical control programming. The development of the MRI-NC machines represents a leading worldwide innovation with the integration of multi-axes systems in the rotary polishing machines, providing a new performance and polishing system. In 1.989 for the first time in the world the work-holder spindles of a polishing machine with rotary table are controlled by programmable interpolable NC axes. The movements of each polishing unit are also controlled by programmable NC axes. The application of this technology provides a new working system based on dividing the polishing cycle time by the number of polishing units of the machine, having the possibility to combine various finishing processes in one single working cycle. The MRI-NC machines are suitable for automating the polishing of parts with irregular configurations and complex shapes.
