The dual channel thermopile MTS2SENS44 nitrous oxide is specifically designed for NDIR gas analysis of N2O (nitrous oxide) in environments ranging from -20 to 85 °C. It achieves a detectivity of up to 1,61*10^8 cm√Hz/W and a sensitivity of up to 39 V/W at a very good price/performance ratio. The infrared filter with a CWL of 4525 ± 20 nm and a HBW of 83 ± 6 nm matches exactly the optical characteristics of the target gas. Typical applications for the dual detector include medical technology, in particular patient and anesthetic gas monitoring.
The integrated thermistor for reference temperature determination and an additional reference channel (CWL: 3910 ± 28, HBW: 70 ± 10 nm) complete the 2-channel detector. The MTS2SENS44 nitrous oxide is based on 2 chips with 44 silicon thermocouples each. Thermal diffusion currents between the different metals generate the measurement signal by the resulting electrical voltage (Seebeck effect).
