What is a ball screw?A ball screw is a rolling-element system composed of a threaded shaft (screw) and a nut with internal threads that contain circulating balls. The balls circulate in the nut via one or more return elements (e.g., ball returns), allowing low-friction linear motion. Functionally it is similar to a bearing where balls run in one or more helical tracks.
