Description

Overview
A smart grinding system for straight blades is a set of sensors and detectors interfaced with a PLC to manage preventive maintenance. It provides warnings and alarms to indicate the need for intervention, helping avoid breakdowns or downtime and ensuring safe continuous operation for operators and production.

Summary
  • Divided into two kits that can be installed separately or together on KS250, KX250, FX20 and FX40 models.
  • Network connectivity enables remote monitoring and supervision of warnings and alarms to plan preventive actions.

Technical features - KIT 1: Monitoring of wear and mechanical faults
  • Monitor vibration status of the grinding spindle to detect excessive bearing wear that could cause noise, damage the grinding motor, compromise the sharpening cycle or damage blades due to transmitted vibrations.
  • Measure coolant temperature inside the tank to continuously check cooling performance and signal when the temperature exceeds a maximum threshold that could compromise correct cooling of the blade.
  • Monitor wear of the upper carriage sliding blocks and signal when the coating thickness falls below a threshold to indicate replacement before guide damage occurs.

Technical features - KIT 2: Monitoring of hydraulic circuits
  • Monitor hydraulic lubrication oil level and indicate when the level drops below the tank threshold to ensure correct oil quantity for moving components such as carriage slides and Z axis movements; the system gives advance warning for refill.
  • Monitor coolant flow within the closed hydraulic circuit pipes to detect obstructions or leaks that impede correct flow during the work cycle, preventing blade burn during dry machining and ensuring correct cooling at the blade contact point.

Technical specifications
  • KIT 1: spindle vibration monitoring; coolant temperature measurement; upper carriage sliding block wear monitoring.
  • KIT 2: hydraulic lubrication oil level monitoring; coolant flow monitoring in the hydraulic circuit.
  • Installable separately or together on KS250, KX250, FX20 and FX40.
  • Interfaces with PLC for preventive maintenance management, warnings and alarms.
  • Supports remote monitoring and supervision via machine network connection.
