OverviewThe TrueWall is an ultrasonic gauge for continuous measurement of wall thickness and concentricity on round products. It is available in multiple models to cover a broad OD range and supports multi-layer and thin-wall discrimination for tubing, hose, pipe, insulated wire and cable manufacturers.
Features & Benefits- Automatic measurement — measures wall thickness without operator input, enabling consistent inline inspection.
- Snap setup & calibration — fully automatic setup and calibration for fast changeovers.
- Multi-layer & thin-wall capability — discriminates up to 4 layers and measures very thin walls using a thin-wall algorithm.
- Compact installation — gauge heads mount in trough or via sealed diaphragm for external mounting, minimizing footprint.
- Industry 4.0 connectivity — embedded webserver, Ethernet, encoder and I/O support for production integration.
Models & Key RangesMeasurements: TrueWall 1012 | TrueWall 1025 | TrueWall 1040 | TrueWall 1063
OD Range: 0.25–12 mm | 2.5–25 mm | 4–40 mm | 7.5–63 mm
Minimum Wall Thickness (examples): 10 MHz: 0.254 mm; 20 MHz: 0.127 mm; Thin-wall option (20 MHz): 0.025 mm (applies where available).
Transducers: model-dependent (4, 6, 8); Frequencies: 1 MHz, 2.25 MHz, 5 MHz, 10 MHz, 20 MHz depending on model.
High-Speed Tolerance CheckingThe system can perform up to approximately 10,000 wall measurements per second (dependent on thickness and configuration) and evaluates each transducer scan against configured tolerances to detect short-term variations on each layer.
Multi-Point Wall & ConcentricityFour to eight adjustable transducers surround the product to evaluate critical locations and provide fast, accurate wall-thickness and concentricity measurements across the circumference.
Multi-Layer and Thin-Wall MeasurementAdvanced sensitivity and algorithms enable discrimination of up to 4 layers and accurate measurement of very thin walls across selectable transducer frequencies.
Embedded WebserverLocal web interface for setup, tolerance configuration, recipe management and diagnostics. Key capabilities include:
- Display of centering, wall thickness, eccentricity and diameter.
- Integration of external laser OD measurements.
- Support for line speed (encoder/LaserSpeed) and discrete I/O.
- Recipe and settings configuration and internal diagnostics; multilingual UI available.
OD Ultrasonic Measurement OptionAn OD ultrasonic option uses optimized transducer echoes to provide high-precision outer diameter information as a cost-effective alternative to laser OD scanning in many applications.
External (Self-Flooding) MeasurementFor measurements outside a cooling trough, TrueWall can be configured with a sealed, water-tight diaphragm assembly to immerse the gauge for external, submerged measurements.
