Description

In the simple upright circulation evaporators the liquid is circulated via thermal convection. This may lead to the partial decomposition of thermolablle compounds, if local superheating occurs at the heating elements, particularly when quartz rod immersion heaters are being used. In order to prevent this problem the thermal convection can be superimposed by a forced liquid circulation. A pump rotor, fully embedded in PTFE and driven via a glandless, powerful magnetic coupling enables the liquid, that is to be evaporated, to be forced through the heating zone with a high circulation velocity. Hence the retention time is significantly reduced, and the liquid is evaporated considerably more gentle. Forced circulation evaporators can be equipped with one, two or -if necessary- with several heating elements, e.g. quartz rod immersion heaters. Traditionally, these are arranged at one side of the evaporator. Opposing or radial arrangements can also be realised. The forced circulation evaporators are fitted completely with guided counter magnet, flat rotor motor and control device.
