Circuit breaker control module PCS-222

Overview
The PCS-222 is an intelligent circuit breaker controller designed for primary switching devices in digital substations at all voltage levels. It converts realtime GOOSE messages into local tripping, closing and status acquisition actions, enabling direct interfacing with protection devices and BCUs for point-to-point GOOSE tripping.

Installation
The unit can be installed outdoors close to primary equipment or integrated into the control-room network via optical GOOSE links. Dedicated cabinets are available to meet dust-proof, humidity-proof and radiation protection requirements for field deployment.

Functions

• Tripping and closing of circuit breakers: Receives protection and BCU GOOSE signals (including trip, initial/non-initial autoreclose and reclosing) and drives output relays to execute breaker operations.
• Remote control outputs: Provides 33 binary outputs for tripping/closing, blocking and remote control contacts; documentation notes 24 output contacts related to specific remote control functions (disconnectors and earth switches).
• Remote signal inputs: Provides 54 binary inputs to locally acquire breaker position, switch position, mechanism signals and transformer body signals and upload them via GOOSE to protection devices or BCUs.
