Description

Product overview
The PCS-9655 high-speed transfer device is designed for power plants to maintain continuous and reliable busbar power supply. It manages automatic and manual transfer between the main and standby power branches, optimizing the switching instant to match busbar residual voltage and standby supply voltage and avoid unsuccessful transfers.

Operation modes
In normal operation the main branch supplies the busbar while the standby branch remains ready. When circuit breaker CB3 is closed the standby supply is in hot standby; when CB3 is open it is in cold standby. If the main supply fails and CB1 trips, the PCS-9655 monitors the busbar voltage decay (influenced by motor inertia) and initiates transfer at the optimal moment to prevent voltage mismatch and loss of the busbar.

Protection and control functions
  • Normal manual switching
  • Accident/emergency switching
  • Loss-of-busbar-voltage switching
  • Unexpected circuit-breaker tripping switching
  • Undervoltage load-shedding switching
  • Switch-on-to-fault protection
  • Automatic voltage and current drift compensation
  • Self-supervision and diagnostics
  • Voltage transformer supervision

Monitoring, records and control
  • Circuit-breaker status monitoring and remote control
  • 64 fault records and 64 disturbance records
  • 1024 SOE records; recent records include element state changes for operational alarms, self-check alarms, protection elements and binary inputs
