About This SolutionOmniseal® diaphragms are engineered for long service life in demanding industrial environments. Manufactured in Virgin PTFE and Modified PTFE, they offer a balance of chemical compatibility and mechanical performance tailored to pump and valve applications.
Materials- Virgin PTFE: suited for light to moderate dynamic and static duty; limited wear; heat resistance up to 200°C; low gas permeability; good cryogenic performance; suitable for moderate to hard vacuum; FDA-compliant grades available.
- Modified PTFE: improved mechanical behavior for light to moderate duty; retains low permeability and cryogenic properties; enhanced creep and extrusion resistance versus Virgin PTFE; FDA-compliant grades available.
Design & ManufacturingDiaphragms are produced to customer hardware dimensions for straightforward assembly and integration. Valve diaphragms are injection-molded to final shape using precision tooling in a Class 10000 clean room. Pump diaphragms are thermoformed (TFM-based). Solutions are designed for both low- and high-pressure applications and are tailored to operating conditions and hardware dimensions.
Application Examples- Industrial processing (pumps, valves)
- Life science equipment
- Semiconductor fabrication and vacuum pumps
- Nuclear science and research
Performance- Temperature range: material/design dependent; typically approx. -240°C to +280°C (-400°F to +536°F)
- Pressure: up to 145 psi (10 bar) maximum for pump and valve diaphragms (application dependent)
- Speed: pump diaphragms suitable for high-frequency operation; valve diaphragms for low-speed opening/closing
- Dimensions: pump diaphragms typically Ø 50 mm — 400 mm; valve diaphragms nominal DN8 (1/4 in) — DN150 (6 in)
- Functional features: abrasion resistance, low friction and wear, low gas permeability, cryogenic compatibility, suitability for moderate to hard vacuum, options for FDA/USP compliance
