OMSTAT strip antistatic brushes consist of an aluminum body with carbon fibre, 12μ diameter, or metal threads, (fine stainless steel twisted wire fibre, 12μ diameter).
They operate under the self-ionization principle. The fibre’s fine tips concentrate the static charge's electric field and ionize the surrounding air. Ions with the opposite polarity are provided by the ionized air, which balances the static charge. The fibre tips typically sit 1-2 mm away from the material in order to neutralize it; they are not required to make direct contact. To function properly, the anti-static brush needs to be grounded.
CHARACTERISTICS
Configuration strip
Material carbon fiber & metal fiber
Function anti-static
Omstat strip antistatic brushes have
carbon fibre and metal fibre bristles.
As long as the brush is in the proper position, both materials discharge static electricity very effectively. (See Figure A)
The brush does not have to touch the surface; it can be 1 mm away from it.
The charged material must be free from the other side, and the brush must not be placed near grounded metal parts.
It is necessary to ground the brush.
