Overview
The OPTEX OVS-02GT is an above-ground vehicle detection sensor designed for reliable presence detection and activation of automatic gates, barriers and industrial doors. It operates as a "Virtual Loop" to replace ground loops where in-ground installation is impractical.

Reliable and flexible vehicle detection
The OVS-02GT provides both short- and long-range detection up to 8 m with a wide-angle adjustment (approx. 90°–95°). It detects vehicles of various materials and sizes and includes a visible status indicator for alignment and diagnostics. Available in Black (standard) and Grey (optional).

Easy above-ground installation
Designed for above-ground mounting (typical installation height ~50 cm from the ground) on a barrier housing, wall or pole. The sensor functions as a virtual loop where ground loops are not feasible. Initial setup and tuning can be performed via the dedicated mobile app "Virtual Loop" in a few steps.

Excellent performance and durability
Microwave detection technology, a built-in heater and IP66 / NEMA4 environmental protection ensure dependable operation in cold, wet, dusty or humid conditions. The sensor is not affected by ground movement and minimises false activations caused by pedestrians.

Vehicle protection and outputs
Presence detection supports safety functions such as anti-hit protection to prevent barriers from closing on vehicles. Dual outputs allow simultaneous activation of a gate/barrier and an auxiliary device (e.g. ticket machine or signal light).

Automatic swing and sliding gates, barriers, bi-folding and high-speed industrial doors, parking systems, car parks, gated driveways and residential, commercial or industrial sites. Suited to locations where ground loops cannot be used or are unreliable.
