Description

The Optris PI 450i is an infrared camera for research and process control. The PI 450i LT thermal camera focuses on measurement stability and strength. The infrared camera features an uncooled microbolometer with 382 × 288 pixels, which captures radiometric images from −20 °C to 900 °C. Additionally, the range can extend to 1500 °C. The thermal camera operates at up to 80 Hz, allowing for quick temperature changes to be recorded with less motion blur. It has low power consumption and requires minimal onboard processing, allowing it to output raw radiometric data. As a result, it can handle ambient temperatures up to 80 °C and minimizes drift. This design also helps prevent overheating that often occurs in many high-power thermal cameras. Plus, a 17 µm pixel pitch is designed for long-wave infrared. This feature allows for small-spot measurements from about 3 × 3 pixels. Users can also swap out lenses—from telephoto to wide-angle—giving them precise control over the field of view and working distance. This increases the number of effective pixels on the target. For automation, the PI 450i pairs sturdy hardware with practical signaling. The optional Industrial Process Interface can output up to three temperatures or alarms to process control. It also allows for external triggering and synchronization. In addition, PIX Connect software provides real-time analysis along with tools for identifying hot and cold spots, histograms, and trend plots. A line-scan mode transforms the 2D image into a continuous temperature profile along a specified line. The PI 450i thermal camera speeds up workflows and offers measurable advantages in fast-paced production settings,
