Description

The Optris PI 400i is an accurate thermal camera made for continuous use in industries. It measures temperatures from –20 °C to 900 °C. With a high-temperature option, the range goes up to 1500 °C. The infrared camera works in the 8–14 µm band, allowing it to cover a wide variety of materials. The PI 400i thermal camera features an uncooled microbolometer with 382 × 288 pixels. It has a frame rate of 80 Hz, which helps motion look smooth. The 17 µm pixel pitch allows for accurate spatial measurements at normal working distances. It also has interchangeable optics, ranging from 18 × 14° to 80 × 54°. This means the same thermal camera can handle both close-up and wide-area targets. Its accuracy is ±2 °C or ±2 %, whichever is higher. The thermal sensitivity can reach 75 mK, depending on the lens. This lets the infrared camera detect small changes and quick events. In process monitoring, this helps find early deviations. Integrating the camera is easy via USB 2.0. There’s also an option for GigE with PoE, which simplifies installs with a single cable. Additionally, the process interface provides analog I/O and relay outputs. Users can trigger alarms or complete control loops directly from the thermal camera. The thermal camera offers live visualization, statistics, and customizable alarms using the PIX Connect software. Line-scan operation allows for temperature profiling of moving products. Advanced users can use SDKs for direct system integration or automation. Optional accessories expand its use in tough environments, such as the Cooling Jacket Advanced or the air-purge attachment.
