Overview
The medium-to-large VERTIRAM GT vertical gantry machining centers by PAMA deliver high spindle speeds, rigidity and damping to meet demanding vertical machining requirements for small to very large components. Configurations range from dynamic, high-speed heads to high-torque, high-damping solutions for heavy cutting. Machines can be fitted with a mobile crossrail to optimise spindle-to-workpiece distance.

Design and construction
Structures are engineered using finite element analysis to optimise mass distribution, static/dynamic rigidity and thermal symmetry. The core element is the ram guided within the headstock by hydrostatic pads, featuring a real-time compensation system for thermal elongation to maintain precision at the source of vibration and load.
