The BoomRanger® radar scanner (CRAT20-150/11ST), an FMCW radar, operates in the frequency range of 24.000 - 24.250 GHz. The antenna characteristic is 150° (±75°) horizontal and 11° (±5.5°) vertical.
BoomRanger® was specifically developed as an anti-collision system for collision protection in the area of fast-moving port cranes.
The radar scanner system detects moving and stationary objects up to a distance of 25 m. The adjustable distance is set in 1-meter steps.
Object detections are reported via open-collector outputs. BoomRanger® has 3 outputs that can be used, for example, as braking or stop functions. They can be programmed to the values required for the respective application. The 3 outputs are led to a 5-pin RSF4 standard connector.
