Green hydrogen (context)
Green hydrogen is produced from renewable electricity by water electrolysis. Hydrogen generated regeneratively serves as an energy carrier and industrial feedstock, applicable in energy supply, mobility fuels and in chemical, refinery, steel and ammonia production. Electrolysis splits water into hydrogen and oxygen using electric current, enabling local, decarbonized hydrogen production and reducing dependence on fossil imports.
