Product overview
The Putzmeister KOS is a valveless two-cylinder piston pump designed to convey thick media with high solids content. The pump unit includes a robust pump hopper for reliable material feed, two hardened delivery cylinders with one piston each and an S-transfer tube connecting the delivery cylinders to the discharge flange.

Operation and design
Changeover of the S-transfer tube is performed by two powerful plunger cylinders, allowing the pump to handle foreign bodies such as stones and brief dry running. The S-transfer tube is adjustable to compensate wear and extend wear part life. Two hydraulic cylinders drive the delivery cylinders. An intermediate waterbox permits flushing and cooling of the cylinders and enables quick piston replacement during maintenance. All moving parts are served by a central grease lubrication system available in manual or electrical versions.

Applications
The KOS is suited for sewage sludge, oil sludge containing foreign bodies, bio-waste and other waste streams, chemical and organic high-density solids with high viscosity, and highly dewatered sewage sludge. It also handles coarse sludges and slurries with large grain content and abrasive or aggressive media when equipped with suitable materials.
