Description
The PAV acoustic emission preamplifier provides a fixed 40 dB gain and integrates an Automatic Sensor Testing (AST) function. Phantom-powered via the signal cable, it is compatible with most common AE sensors and acquisition boards. The cast-aluminum shell offers electromagnetic shielding and impact protection, while compact dimensions and a BNC-BNC connector simplify on-site installation.

Notes
1. Ensure the preamplifier output impedance matches the input impedance of downstream instruments (AE acquisition units, DAQ, oscilloscope) to avoid gain and amplitude deviations.
2. When connecting to non-professional acquisition devices (DAQ, oscilloscope), provide an external power supply (PPS) if the device does not supply phantom power.
3. Avoid incorrect connections that can damage the preamplifier: a) input voltage ≈25% higher than specified; b) reversed input and output connections.
