FORGE-WELDED GRATINGS Forge-welded gratings consist of cross and bearing bars and a binding bar. These are arranged at right angles to each other. What is special about this type of grate is the cross bars. These are mostly twisted square bars which are pressed into the bearing bars. Usually, forge-welded gratings are made from steel. Forge-welded gratings: Construction Twisted square bars and round bars which function as cross bars are pressed with high pressure into the bearing bars and at the same time welded with resistance welding techniques.
