Robotic arm for drums handling F.lli Sacchi announces big news in the handling of drums, big-bag and general heavy load devices or dangerous ones (because of their contents such as radioactive, toxic, noxious material). In the specific, thanks to an anthropomorphic robot, appositely modified, with a capacity up to 1200 Kg and having a remote control system based on various joysticks, it’s possible to handle the load from a safe position. For example, in this way it’s possible to handle, open, overturn or palletise drums. Interesting outlooks in the handling of toxic, noxious and radioactive materials are arising. In particular, this robot is being employed in nuclear decommissioning and in nuclear power plant maintenance, as well as in process operations of radioactive drums.
