Overview OPS is a modular process software from Salvagnini designed to coordinate information flows in sheet metal production environments. It enables automated decision making based on configurable production rules without requiring structural changes to the shop layout, facilitating the adoption of smart manufacturing practices.
OPS — the modular Salvagnini process software OPS acts as a central coordinator, defining rules and algorithms to automate production flows. It can enforce constraints such as maximum tolerable scrap, efficiency targets or kit composition for a single nesting, and can apply single or mixed production logics. OPS exchanges data between different technologies and cells (for example FSJ cells) to maintain coherent process behavior across the shop floor.
OPS Shop Floor Control The OPS Shop Floor Control module provides labelling, traceability and warehouse-management functions for upstream and downstream cutting operations. It displays part information on a touch monitor or prints it on labels (identification code, job code, next workstation) and supports barcodes to call the next machining program automatically. The module returns status to the factory ERP, marking picked parts as completed and updating production lists to reduce sorting time and identification errors.
How OPS can help you - Organise production: define priorities, manage order changes or cancellations, and check availability of raw materials and semi-finished parts.
- Automatically create nests and machine programs: group parts by material, thickness and tool setup required for downstream operations and orders.
- Provide real-time feedback to ERP: update material availability and production status part by part.
- Reduce redundant activities: eliminate low-value tasks and shorten logistics operations.
- Integrate labelling and traceability: minimise identification errors and waiting times.
