Description

Overview
The latest generation of Schäfer crimping applicators for mechanical crimping with side feed, developed for small cross-sections and high precision in cable and terminal production. Functional and design improvements enable faster setup and consistent production accuracy.

Optimized adjustability for Maximum Precision
Separate, fully decoupled adjustment of wire crimp and insulation crimp heights is achieved via a redesigned crimp-height adjustment head. Two adjustment ranges are available depending on wire cross-section: 1.5 mm with 0.01 mm resolution for smaller cross-sections, or 3 mm with 0.02 mm resolution for larger cross-sections. A tool-less clamping device on the feed table/finger permits fine mechanical tuning of crimp geometry. High-precision roller bearings in the feed ensure accurate terminal feeding.

Easy Handling and Compatibility
Wear parts of the new applicator are compatible with previous Schäfer generations. Crimp dies for both wire and insulation can be changed quickly, even when the applicator is mounted. The unit fits a standardized press shut height of 135.78 mm and mounts via the common quick-clamp for Schäfer machines up to 20 kN. An optional mechanical counter can be integrated to record crimp cycle counts.
