You can pre-install SM-E on all your platforms and connect to central GateManager Access Management Servers FREE of charge. Once you need to perform remote maintenance, a license can be assigned remotely on the GateManager Access Management server with a single click. WHEN TO CHOOSE THE SOFTWARE IIOT GATEWAY Although the popular SiteManager Hardware Models are highly versatile and are used in a variety of applications and IIoT environments, there are still several use-cases where the software version of SiteManager (SM-E) is ideal. Here are the typical scenarios: When physical requirements, such as humidity or vibration, exceed the specs of the SiteManager Hardware Gateways. For instance, for use in certain vehicles. When special compliance requirements, such as government regulated safety of radio standards or special industry regulations such as that for maritime equipment, are not covered by the standard compliance certifications of the SiteManager Hardware Gateways. When physical space restrictions prevent installation of a SiteManager Hardware Gateway but where there is already a suitable device, such as an IPC or HMI, that could host the SM-E.
