OverviewThe MultiNA II MCE-301 is a microchip electrophoresis system that automates DNA and RNA quality-control workflows. It replaces manual steps with a standardized digital QC process using reusable microchips and dedicated software to reduce hands-on time, late QC failures and operating costs.
Key benefits- Reliable sample quality
Automated microchip electrophoresis with RNA Integrity Index (RII) and an optional High-Sensitivity kit for sensitive DNA/RNA evaluation. - Simple and intuitive operation
Guided workflows in the software, removable sample racks and automatic sample dilution reduce manual handling and errors. - Smart and sustainable QC
Reusable chips and reduced energy and purified-water consumption lower consumable use and laboratory resource demands.
Workflow and operationRegister the analysis schedule, load samples and reagents into the removable tray, insert the tray and start automatic analysis. The instrument performs dispensing, separation, detection and rinsing automatically while the software displays results successively for immediate review and confirmation.
Notable functions- Automated sample dilution
Automatic dilution to preset factors (5×, 10×, 20×); dilution supported for up to 48 samples (separate tubes for diluted samples required). - Adding samples during analysis
System can be paused to add samples; up to 120 additions supported during a run. - Reorder gel images
Gel images can be rearranged independently of analysis order for reporting and review. - Comparison with past data
Load and display historical data (including data from MCE-202) alongside current results for comparison (some reagent kits may be excluded). - Calibration curves
Automatic size and concentration prediction using calibration curves and internal standards for objective numeric results. - Intuitive data analysis
Electropherogram views, size-prediction overlays and application-specific processing tools in the software.
Enhanced analysis functions- RNA
Automatic calculation of RNA Integrity Index (RII); correlation with other indices shows R2 ≥ 0.95. - mRNA analysis
Purity and mixture analysis demonstrated for mRNA samples (examples: Cas9 and EPO mixtures). - DNA
DNA fingerprinting functions with automatic presence/absence calls and grouped result listings. - NGS library QC
Smear analysis and High-Sensitivity kit enable evaluation of library size distribution and concentration down to approximately 5 pg/µL. - Genome editing support
Grouping analysis and molar concentration ratio tools for workflows such as HMA, Cel-I and PCR-RFLP; detection and quantitative evaluation of deletion mutations.
User-friendly design- Intuitive software with visual guides and image reordering for streamlined data review.
- Removable sample rack supports up to 96 plates and mixed loading of up to two reagent kit types.
ECO functions / Energy & water savingsThe MultiNA II reduces laboratory resource use versus the previous model: approximately 30% lower power consumption, more than 40% less purified-water use for rinsing, ~15% smaller footprint and ~27% reduced height (with front door open), lowering liquid waste and easing integration in constrained labs.
Application highlightsApplication notes and technical guides support workflows such as NGS library QC, analysis of LNP-encapsulated mRNA, RNA quality evaluation (RII), heteroduplex mobility assays, allergen gene analysis, PCR‑RFLP species identification and other molecular biology procedures.
