Description

Overview
The MEC3000 is an automatic cutting line for tubes and profiles (round, square and rectangular) designed for continuous industrial use. It manages up to 10 configurable cutting lengths with integrated scrap and end-cut handling. Material feed is by rubber rollers with bar stops; the cutting head is tilted at 45° on prismatic guides and driven by a servomotor for controlled speed and stability.

Main Features
  • Automatic cutting unit for round, square and rectangular tubes and profiles
  • Autonomous management of up to 10 different cutting lengths
  • Integrated scrap and end-cut handling
  • Advancement by rubber rollers and bar stops
  • 45° tilted cutting head on prismatic guides, servomotor-driven
  • Siemens touch-screen operator panel for cycle configuration and monitoring

Operational Highlights
  • Working diameters (round): Ø12 – Ø100 mm
  • Square sections: 12 x 12 – 100 x 100 mm
  • Rectangular profiles: up to 100 x 80 mm
  • Configurable cutting lengths: example range 20 – 3000 mm
  • Machinable length examples: 3 – 12 m (loader options 1.5–12 m)
  • Positioning precision: example ±0.18 mm; cutting tolerance example ±0.25 mm
  • Blade rotation speed: 30 – 300 min⁻¹ (rpm)
  • Cutting time example: 1.5 – 9" (depending on material and cut)
  • Blade life: up to 100,000 cuts (application dependent)
  • Auto feed with brushless motors; energy-efficient, low-wear

Options and Modules
  • Automatic tube loader / bundle loader for continuous feed
  • Cutting unit with integrated unloader (front/rear unloading options)
  • Multiple programmable unloading positions and lateral unloader positions
  • Hydraulic power unit
  • Brushless motors for feed and motion
  • Safety barriers, photocells and protections to meet regulations
  • Custom line design and tailor-made configurations

Performance / Production
  • Designed for continuous industrial operation (24/7 capability)
  • Feed/handling speeds example: up to 300 m/min
  • Cutting head movement example: high-speed positioning up to 300 m/min
  • Blade motor power example: 5.5 kW (depending on configuration)
  • Production output: up to thousands of cuts per shift depending on material and configuration

Compatibility and Materials
  • Compatible materials: carbon steels (e.g., C40, C45, S235JR), structural/mechanical steels (e.g., S355J2), stainless steels (AISI 304, 316), aluminium alloys (EN AW‑6060, 6082, 7075), copper/brass/bronze alloys (CuZn37, CuSn12)

Mechanical / Installation Notes
Loader length examples: 6 m standard (optional 1.5–12 m). Cutting unit and total machine lengths are modular and can be customised during design and layout phase.

Customization & Support
  • Each line can be configured to customer operating conditions; Simec analyses the process to develop customised cutting lines
  • Original spare parts stocked and dedicated technical service for commissioning and maintenance
