Overview The ultra-compact SGF-58 flexure goniometer stage provides precise angular positioning with a center of rotation 58 mm above the working platform. Its flexure-hinge guideway minimizes parasitic motion and enables operation in demanding environments, including high vacuum, ultra-high vacuum and cryogenic temperatures.
Design and Application The SGF-58 replaces conventional steel contact bearings with a flexure hinge mechanism to reduce friction and parasitic errors over a deflection range up to ±2°. Pivot height is customizable from 25 to 100 mm above the top plate on request. The compact 32 x 32 mm footprint and low mass (~52 g) make the stage suitable for integration in space-constrained multi-axis nanopositioning systems.
Integration and Control The stage integrates seamlessly with SmarAct CLS-32 series stages for multi-axis assemblies combining linear, rotational and goniometer motions. It can be driven by SmarAct control units and is available with integrated positioning sensors for closed-loop operation to improve stability and repeatability.
