Solutions for Bulk Solids, Bag and Combination Loading
River and sea-going vessels are loaded with a variety of goods - this must be done quickly, safely and with optimum utilization of the available cargo space. SMB International's ship loaders can be flexibly adapted to various requirements and are also suitable for use in demanding climatic conditions.
Optimum Flow of Goods - Gentle and Fast
Depending on the type of goods to be loaded - bulk solids, sacks or a combination of both - different loading systems are used. SMB ship loaders can be installed as stationary systems or move along the quay wall on rails as mobile loading equipment.
The faster a vessel is loaded, the shorter the lay times and the more cost-effective the transport. The use of spiral or cascade chutes reduces the risk of damage to goods and avoids increased insurance and transportation costs. The ship loading facilities can be realized from 5000 dwt to 90,000 dwt, the loading capacity is up to 3,500 t/h.
Loading Types
The SMB ship loaders are characterized by different loading processes.
In addition to loading sacks and bulk solids, loading can also be combined.
Bulk Solids Loading
Cascade chutes optimize the flow speed of the bulk solids so that the grain size remains largely undamaged. The resulting dust is virtually "captured" by the suction of the sliding material. If the bulk solids can create areas at risk of dust explosion or if dust emissions need to be minimized, the use of an encapsulated dust extraction system is also recommended. Depending on the bulk solids, a slinger belt can be used at the end of the chute.
