Spring Energized Metal seals, C ring seal type is based on a metallic "C" substrate, designed to be applied in extreme working conditions. By default, Spring Energized Metal C seals for internal Pressure or external Pressure are system pressure energized, they require high bolting load and have good spring back. Due to its special structure and material, Spring Energized Metal C Ring can be used in working conditions such as high temperature (up to 750°C), cryogenic (low to -270°C), high pressure (up to 1500kgf/cm2), high vacuum (up to 1E-9 mmHg) and other extreme working conditions of static sealing. Specifically, Spring Energized Metal C-Ring seals are an enhanced Metal C-Ring. With an spring inside the substrate, Spring Energized Metal C-Ring can bear much greater load for rough surfaces, and can also achieve much lower leakage rate.
