OverviewDiscover our planar biaxial cruciform testing systems, designed for advanced material testing. With precision engineering and cutting-edge technology, these systems excel in evaluating materials under tensile, fatigue and fracture conditions, providing reliable and accurate results.
Applications- Two-axis tensile testing
- Low-cycle fatigue (LCF)
- High-cycle fatigue (HCF)
- Thermo-mechanical fatigue (TMF)
- Fracture testing
Design & ArchitectureThe systems are built around a high-stiffness annular load frame and employ four actuators arranged in a cruciform configuration to deliver precise biaxial loading. The bench supports synchronized multi-axis control for complex loading waveforms.
Control SoftwareTest Center software ensures synchronized operation across all axes and provides waveform generation, calibration, PC integration and performance monitoring capabilities.
VariantsTwo main variants are available:
- UD (electrodynamic): electrodynamic variant suitable for high-frequency/dynamic testing and high accelerations.
- EA (electromechanical): electromechanical variant optimized for versatility in multi-actuator applications and higher static/dynamic loads.
Actuators — Key Characteristics- Linear motor (electrodynamic) actuators: suitable for tests requiring accelerations of tens of g, frequencies up to ~500 Hz, continuous loads around 100 kN with peaks up to ~120 kN.
- Electromechanical actuators: suitable for tests with accelerations up to ~2 g and dynamic loads up to ~200 kN; versatile for multi-actuator systems.
Features- High reliability
- High efficiency
- No maintenance (design goal)
- Wide range of use
- Simple installation
NotesThe cruciform test bench can be configured with either electromechanical or electrodynamic actuators depending on application-specific requirements and test profiles.
