Description

Description
The LOS long-type separator is a state-of-the-art mechanical sorting machine designed to automatically remove oversized bulk materials upstream of processing lines. Installed directly at the head of an RBC conveyor, it separates material flows by gravity: materials smaller than the safety clearance fall onto the downstream conveyor, whilst long items (films, stretched plastics, large cardboard boxes) are removed from the process and fall cleanly into a collection bin. Its modular design allows for bespoke configuration, perfectly adapting to the volume, composition and density of your waste streams.

Industrial benefits
  • High-Performance Direct Drive: Fitted with a robust bevel gear motor, directly coupled via a hollow shaft and keyed to the drum shaft, eliminating energy losses due to friction
  • Exclusive Anti-Wrap Device: Features a specialised protective shell on each side of the drum, preventing the accumulation and wrapping of stringy materials or films around the shaft to protect the motor
  • Zero Initial Lubrication: The high-end tapered sleeve bearings are supplied pre-greased from the factory, guaranteeing 17,500 hours of continuous operation without any maintenance.
  • Guaranteed Acoustic Comfort: Rigorous no-load measurements confirm an A-weighted sound pressure level of less than 80 dB(A) at 1 metre, eliminating the need for any additional soundproofing infrastructure at the industrial site [source: 0.1.6].
  • Sustainable Engineering & Genuine Parts: Heavy-duty design offering indicative nominal service lives of 20,000 hours for the gear motor and drum, and 15,000 hours for the bearings

Options and Modularity
  • Adjustable belt widths: Chassis available in multiple variants to fit your conveyor precisely: 600, 800, 1,000, 1,200, 1,400, 1,600, 1,800, 2,000 and 2,200 mm
  • Adjustable central inclination: Angle of incidence adjustable from 1° to 20° for millimetre-precise alignment with the gradient of your existing RBC conveyor.
  • Micrometric adjustment slides (long-item trap): The two bearing supports are mounted on adjustable slides offering a travel of 480 mm. Tightening two M27 screws allows the drum and its deflectors to be moved simultaneously to optimise capture according to the size of the targeted long items
  • Easy maintenance with ‘integrated jib’: The chassis is compatible with a jib mount installed at the end of the RBC conveyor, ensuring the safe handling of heavy components (drum, gear motor) during servicing

Applications
  • Selective Waste Collection (CS) Sorting Centres: Removal of large plastic films and overpackaging
  • Household waste treatment plants (DMA): Removal of long unwanted items and textiles prior to screening or optical sorting
  • General industrial waste (DIB / DCI) processing facilities: Pre-sorting of large cardboard boxes, straps and industrial packaging plastics

Operating Limits & Safety
To ensure the longevity of the housing and the drive system, the unit weight of waste items fed into the flow must not exceed 10 kg. Bulky items or excessively heavy pieces must be removed upstream of the line
