The load-bearing capacity of a flat roof is limited. This limit is often reached unnoticed by masses of snow. Catastrophic roof collapses like the one in Bad Reichenhall are the result. Innovative roof load monitoring protects against potential damage and saves lives. The SAS-307 Snow Alarm System is the professional system for continuous and year-round measurement of the current roof load. In winter, it averts the danger of excessive snow loads and in summer it warns of unnoticed accumulation of water that can build up during heavy rainfall. Two individually adjustable threshold values trigger a pre-alarm and finally an evacuation alarm depending on the roof load. Three measuring stations are attached to the roof surface at selected and exposed points. This "triple system" provides triple safety in order to recognise different roof loads. The measuring stations are full of electronics and sensors. They have a measuring range of 5 to 750 kg/m². The measuring tolerance is 1% of the maximum load. With a diameter of only 50 cm and a weight of 10 kg, they are easy to handle. Each measuring station is equipped with a pressure equaliser including a positioning rod, which clearly marks the position, even on a snow-covered roof The control cabinet with integrated evaluation electronics is the actual alarm centre of the snow alarm system. The measuring stations are connected to it. The measuring stations can be set and the load values of the individual measuring stations can be read via the integrated LCD display. Optical / acoustic alarm devices can be connected to plug-in switching outputs.
