PET resin in our portfolio has been using at various application, such as sheets, industrial parts and special packaging application that requires high transparency, high mechanical properties and excellent gas barrier characteristic. ・ TEIJIN has newly developed/ introduced PET resin, which employs titanium compound as a catalyst, in addition to standard antimony catalyst PET resin. The features of the new titanium catalyst PET are as below: (1) Stable Supply: Antimony and germanium that has been used as the standard catalysts for PET manufacturing are rare metal concentrated in China. In comparison to the metals, titanium supply would not be fluctuated that allows us to commit stable and competitive supply. (2) Safety: Titanium is one of biocompatible material that has been used as a dental material for a long time. It addition, it complies with food safety standards so it would not be harmful to human health.
