Description

Product Overview:A compact, ergonomic and handheld ultrasonic pulse velocity tester for concrete inspection. The device is made of light-weight shockproof plastic and has two built-in transducers with dry-point-contact with fixed base (150 mm). Wear resistant tips of the transducers are insensitive to the surface condition. Hence, there is no need to apply coupling gel or to prepare the surface for measuring.Operational Advantages:Evaluation of the durability of concrete. The evaluation is based on correlation between time of propagation/velocity of longitudinal ultrasonic waves in concrete. Measurements are performed by the surface scanning with a fixed base.Search for near-surface flaws in the concrete structures by abnormal decreasing of ultrasound velocity or increasing of the propagation time in the flaw area.Evaluation of anisotropy in composite materials.Evaluation of concrete curing during building of poured-in-place concrete method and sliding shuttering.Evaluation of the load-carrying ability of concrete backbones and posts.Evaluation of the depth of the outcrop cracks.Evaluation of porosity and fissuring of the material.Evaluation of the age of material if its physical properties change with time.Device Features:Sound indication when ultrasonic signals are being receivedNon-volatile memory allowing storing of 50,000 measurements (the results can be grouped)USB port for transferring of the saved data to the external PCDelivery Set:UK1401 – ultrasonic testerUSB A – Micro B cableUSB adapter for 220VChecking sampleCaseTechnical Specifications:Scanning base150 mmTime measurement range15 – 100 μsVelocity measurement range1500 – 9990 m/cCrack deepness measurement range10 – 50 mmWorking frequency50 kHzPulse repetition frequency5 – 25 kHzQuantity of objects in memory4 000Operating temperature rangefrom -20 to +45 °COperation time with battery, not less than15 hSize199 х 120 х 34 mmWeight of electronic unit350 gFAQ - Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Method:What is the ultrasonic pulse velocity method? The ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) method is a non-destructive testing (NDT) technique used to evaluate the quality, uniformity, and structural integrity of materials, particularly concrete, rock, ceramics, and other solid materials. By measuring the speed at which ultrasonic pulses travel through a material, the UPV method can assess its density, strength, and detect potential flaws such as cracks, voids, and honeycombs. How does the ultrasonic pulse velocity method work? The UPV method operates on the principle that the speed of sound waves through a material is influenced by its density and elastic properties. A transducer emits high-frequency ultrasonic pulses into the material, which are detected by a receiving transducer. The time taken for the pulse to travel is recorded, and the velocity is calculated based on the distance and time.Applications: Construction (quality of concrete structures), civil engineering (strength of concrete and rock), manufacturing (quality of ceramics, composites), preservation and restoration (assessment of historical structures).Advantages: Non-destructive, accurate assessment, defect detection, applicable to various materials, portable and efficient.Characteristics / Technical Specifications:Scanning base: 150 mmTime measurement range: 15 – 100 μsVelocity measurement range: 1500 – 9990 m/cCrack deepness measurement range: 10 – 50 mmWorking frequency: 50 kHzPulse repetition frequency: 5 – 25 kHzQuantity of objects in memory: 4,000Operating temperature range: from -20 to +45 °COperation time with battery, not less than: 15 hSize: 199 х 120 х 34 mmWeight of electronic unit: 350 g
