TERRUZZI FERCALX has the capability to design and realize Inert Atmosphere OVENS both of cylindrical and near rectangular shape. This also for large sizes, and for example a project has been realized with the following dimensions: 48mt length x 20 mt front side x 5mt height. The OVEN can be used to carry out the heat treatment of Superconducting cable of toroidal coils. One of the major application of the TERRUZZI OVEN is the treatment of the three double pancakes of superconductor during the same cycle. Special materials are used for the construction of the OVEN, such as stainless steel AISI304 L , AISI316 L and AISI321. OVEN inner chamber is made in austenitic steel as AISI321 resistant to high temperatures with 2B surface finishing, in order to avoid the release of impurities which could damage the process during the heating treatment of the double pancakes.
