Product descriptiontesa HAF® 8405 is a reactive heat-activated double-sided adhesive film based on phenolic resin and nitrile rubber. The amber film has no backing and is supplied with a glassine paper liner for handling. It is not self-adhesive at room temperature and is activated by heat and pressure (activation begins around 85–90 °C) to form high-strength, flexible bonds with excellent chemical and oil/solvent resistance.

Processing and recommended parameterstesa HAF® 8405 is activated by heat and pressure applied over a defined interval. Optimum parameters depend on machine, materials and application. Recommended starting values:
- Pre-lamination: 120–140 °C
- Splicing: Temperature 120–220 °C; Pressure > 2 bar; Time 15–90 s
- Friction liners for clutches: Temperature 180–230 °C; Pressure > 8 bar; Time 3–30 min
- Magnet bonding: Temperature 140–180 °C; Pressure > 6–10 bar; Time 2–5 min
- Structural bonding: Temperature 180–220 °C; Pressure > 10–15 bar; Time > 3–30 min
