The Tyco® TAV-D Dry System Air Vent provides oxygen venting in dry pipe fire sprinkler systems. As a fire sprinkler system is filled with a continuous supply of nitrogen gas from the Tyco® Model NG-1 Nitrogen Generator, the air vent allows oxygen-rich gas to be vented from the fire sprinkler system. Over a short period of time, the TAV-D will almost completely remove oxygen from the fire sprinkler system (< 2% oxygen). The vent is also installed to provide source gas when used in conjunction with the Tyco® TSGA SMART Gas Analyzer. There are two Tyco® air vent models available — the TAV-D and also the TSV-D. Both units operate as described above, but the TSV-D model includes an electronic solenoid valve wired to a control panel that automatically closes the vent once the desired nitrogen concentration is reached.

Support hanger not required
Benefits
Reduce Corrosion
Nitrogen replaces corrosion-causing oxygen.
Extend Useful Life
Reducing corrosion can extend the service life of a fire sprinkler system.
Minimize Business Interruption
System leaks due to corrosion can lead to costly downtime — reducing corrosion helps keep Systems healthy and operational.
