Description

NivoRadar® NR 3000 sensors are mainly used for continuous level measurement in bulk storage silos, but can also be used in liquid applications. The compact sensor measures distances up to 100m (328ft) and can be used in almost all media due to its high sensitivity. The 78GHz FMCW radar uses two-wire technology and is easily commissioned via a plug-on display and a quick start wizard. The high-frequency signal is emitted with a beam angle of only 4°, reflected by the material and received again by the sensor. The frequency difference, which is directly proportional to the distance, is then further processed and output as a level signal. The narrow beam lobe makes it possible to use the sensor in narrow, high silos and simplifies installation and alignment of the sensor even when installed in the vessel.
