Description

Overview
The DisRuptor is an energy-efficient mechanical disintegration system that reduces particle size and defibers solid biomass in organic suspensions. By increasing the surface area of the substrate and homogenising the suspension, the DisRuptor accelerates conversion, increases gas yield and reduces power consumption for mixers and pumps. The DisRuptor functional unit consists of a rotor with six blades and an outer DisRuptor ring. At high rotor speeds, solid matter is milled and frayed in the narrow gap between the rotor and the ring. The gap is infinitely adjustable to suit substrate and application, enabling wear compensation without immediate part replacement.

Key benefits
  • Increases the surface of the biomass feed
  • Homogenises and reduces the viscosity of the organic suspension
  • Accelerates and increases gas production
  • Reduces the power consumption of mixers and pumps
  • Easy to retrofit into existing plants

DisRuptor DR7000 (system basics)
The DisRuptor DR7000 features a variable function unit and a simple adjustment mechanism. The DisRuptor head can be swivelled upwards with hydraulic support for direct access to the function unit. The gap between the blades and the external ring can be adapted individually to the substrate without special tools. Wear on ring and wings can be compensated by realignment, extending service life.

Features
  • Adjustable function unit: infinitely adjustable gap between DisRuptor ring and wing for individual adaptation and wear compensation
  • High throughput: intensive disintegration at high throughput with low drive power (example: with 15 kW installed capacity up to 200 m3/h of organic suspension can be treated)
  • QuickService design: DisRuptor head swivels up to provide direct access for maintenance, adjustment and part replacement
  • Opening aid: hydraulic support to effortlessly open the DisRuptor head for service
  • DisRuptor ring and wings: ring halves hardened with wear-resistant surface; wings made of hardened special steel with engineered geometry for long service life

Options
  • Types: Inline pot (permissible pressure up to 2 bar) suitable for easy retrofit; Compact XL pot for higher pressures up to 4 bar
  • Base: available fully installed on a steel base with forklift pockets for simple installation and positioning
  • Materials: standard galvanized housing; stainless-steel variant available where all wetted parts (ring, wings, etc.) are stainless steel for aggressive media

Applications & effects
The DisRuptor is used for mechanical pre-treatment of substrates in biogas applications to improve biodegradability, increase gas yield and enable easier pumping and mixing of high-solid or fibrous substrates. It is suitable as retrofit equipment for existing plants or as part of new plant concepts.

Technical specifications
  • Function unit: rotor with six blades and outer DisRuptor ring
  • Adjustability: infinitely adjustable gap between rotor wings and external ring
  • Service concept: hydraulic swivel head (QuickService) for easy access and maintenance
  • Throughput example: up to 200 m3/h organic suspension with ~15 kW installed capacity (application-dependent)
  • Pressure variants: Inline pot (≤ 2 bar), Compact XL pot (≤ 4 bar)
  • Materials: galvanized housing standard; full stainless-steel wetted parts variant available
  • Wear protection: hardened DisRuptor ring surfaces and hardened special-steel wings
  • Mounting option: steel base with forklift pockets
