WinMate display product series is built specifically for use in daylight and outdoors. Generally, most displays use the Transmissive LCD screen technology, which causes strong and even illumination to enable daylight viewing. This technology makes outdoor reading almost impossible. On the other hand, the reflective technology allows the reflection of ambient light making them readable outdoors. This reflective display, where the backlight lights up the screen, makes them extremely bright for indoor use. This happens because sidelights are used to light up the display. WinMate handles this display problem efficiently by using a Transreflective Display that is a compromise between Transmissive and Reflective Technologies. The Transreflective display displays both transmit and reflect light. It changes based on the ambient environment and offers excellent readability both outdoors and indoors. In dark areas, the backlight with transmissive properties comes into play. In outdoor or bright environments, this display eliminates the need for a backlight and uses external light. This also allows long-term cost savings.
