Winmate display product series can be used indoors as well as outdoors. This means the display can be viewed in daylight and in low light. In display technology, most displays come with transmissive LCDs. These LCDs are very bright indoors as their backlights are used to strongly and evenly illuminate the screen. However, in outdoors these displays become unreadable. Reflective technology screens are unreadable indoors without the use of sidelights. However, these screens are readable outdoors as they reflect ambient light. Winmate uses a combination of these technologies. Its Transflective LCD screens are usable both indoors and outdoors. These screens combine transmissive and reflective technologies. It changes the technology according to the ambient environment. The display is readable when it uses external light with reflective outdoors. It uses backlight in dark environment.
