Description

Overview
The WS 250 tractor-towed stabiliser is designed for efficient soil improvement and strengthening with a working width of 2.5 m. It converts heavy, coarse-grained or sandy subgrade into material suitable for placing and compaction; coarse particles can be reduced in size inside the mixing chamber by the milling and mixing rotor. Stabilisation with added binders (e.g. cement or lime) increases long-term resistance to traffic and weather and produces a ground with high bearing capacity and frost resistance.

Key applications
  • Soil improvement for embankments, slopes, backfills and haulage roads.
  • Soil strengthening to create load-bearing surfaces for parking areas, roads, sports grounds, track beds, harbour facilities, airports and industrial parks.

Main features and functional highlights
  • Powerful milling and mixing rotor available with different tool-holder systems for homogeneous mixing and crushing of coarse material.
  • Heavy-duty driveshaft with overload clutch for reliable transmission of tractor power to the rotor.
  • Standardized three-point hitch (categories 3 and 4 DIN / ISO 730-1) for quick and secure attachment to tractors.
  • Efficient mechanical belt drives on left and right for robust mechanical transmission.
  • Eccentric rotor gearbox keeping the pulley housing above ground level.
  • Pneumatic tool extractor enabling fast replacement of cutting tools.
  • Adjustable rear rotor plate in extra-high position and rotor plate with high contact pressure for uniform mixing quality.
  • Mechanically adjustable levelling blade for even surface finishing and hydraulically height-adjustable side plates with mechanical stops.
  • Front stone guard to protect against flying stones.

Operational concept and technology
Adjustable levelling and side plates together with the rotor plate ensure high contact pressure, homogeneous mixing and even surface finishing. The driveshaft must be sized according to the tractor’s engine power; mechanical belt drives and an eccentric gearbox increase efficiency and protect the pulley housing. The machine processes various subgrades in situ, enabling cold recycling or on-site stabilisation with binders when required.
