Ruggedized enclosures for WISER RTLS antennas simplifies operation in harsh environments. The new WISER ruggedized antenna product line are designed for indoor or outdoor operation. The enclosures are National Electric Manufacturers Association (NEMA) 4x outdoor rated. NEMA 4x provides the same protection as NEMA 3 but adds protection against hose directed water and protection against corrosion, adding longevity to the WISER system even in harsh and hazardous environments. WISER’s ruggedized mesh provides the same flexibility as the standard WISER antenna nodes, and is available either in Power over Ethernet (POE) or wireless options. Ruggedized antenna nodes may be co-mingled with the standard indoor WISER antenna for the ultimate flexibility. Enclosure for Antenna Node Only The Antenna Node is affixed (but removable, if necessary) inside a 6”x4”x4” weatherized enclosure. This enclosure is attached with two integrated brackets. The brackets can attach to a pole or building with the proper kit. It is particularly important that the enclosure is oriented vertically with outlet holes facing down and the 4”x4” surface parallel to the ground. The USB A type connector of the Antenna Node must be connected inside the enclosure to a 3mm to 4mm extension cable (customer provided for desired length) routed out of the enclosure through a split cable gland.
