OverviewThe Z+F Visual Control System (VCS) inspects and visually monitors wire and cable ends to verify crimp quality and detect defects. The system determines the bend/shape of a cable end and evaluates the visible processing quality using multiple cameras and real‑time Z+F software. It can operate as a stand‑alone unit for manual inspection or be integrated into automated cable processing lines to increase automation and quality assurance. Inspection results are stored automatically to support traceability. Visual alerts notify the operator when a defect is detected.
Recognisable quality defects (examples)- Missing wire end ferrule
- Damaged wire end ferrule
- Excess strands due to excessively long stripping
- Protruding strands outside the plastic collar
Technical informationThe inspected conductor ends are captured by several high‑resolution cameras and processed in real time by the Z+F software according to configured inspection criteria. The system supports standalone manual workflows as well as inline integration with cable processing machines. Automatic storage of inspection data supports continuous quality control and process traceability. Communication and control are handled via a RESTful API and standard physical interfaces.
