New Ceramic HELITURN Inserts with a Molded Chipformer
ISCAR is introducing new HELITURN LNMX 1506..R/L-HT IS8 ceramic inserts with a molded chipformer. The new inserts combine the advantage of the HELITURN tangentially clamped insert system with the ceramic grade and a sophisticated molded chipformer. The tangential clamping is most important when using ceramic inserts, as by means of this method bending forces are practically eliminated from being exerted on the insert. The new insert can be used for high speed machining (500-1000 m/min) of cast iron. The LNMX 1506..R/L-HT IS8 insert is the ultimate solution for Fast Metal Removal when machining disk brakes, flanges, valves and other mass production parts made from cast iron.

PCD-grooving tools
Sommerer GmbH, grooving tools and profile turning tools with extremely high precision for manufactoring pistons.
These tools are used mainly for the grooving of piston head rings. The tools for turning of the groove demand high standards of precision as the tollerance range is only +- 1 Mikron. In order to achieve an exact groove, the parallel plan of the tool must be exactly maintained, the parallism ...per hour is normal. For external grooving, groove turning, profiling and undercutting. Various PCD materials and CBN materials find application to the workpiece material.

WhizCut provides an efficient solution to the problem of limited space when indexing inserts in a modern cnc Swiss Type Automatic lathe. Almost all types of external applications can be performed using two toolholders, one for axial turning and one mainly for radial turning (parting off etc.). The WhizCut system enables each toolholder to clamp up to 40 different kinds of inserts for various applications.
The WhizFix toolholder system uses a pin and a nut to make it possible to index or change the insert from the opposite side of the toolholder. The inserts can be indexed within 15 seconds even without access to the insert, making it the most effective system on the market today for cnc automatic lathes.

Sandvik Coromant’s new GC1125 grade lives up to the demands of the leading parting and grooving tooling system, CoroCut® 1-2 edge and is now the first choice to achieve improved performance in parting, grooving, turning and profiling operations in a wide geometry range.
The optimization of properties for this grade delivers a wider application area and the capacity to handle improved cutting data. GC1125 has a good all round ability and provides the means to improve performance in a wide geometry range across many parting, grooving, turning and profiling operations. It is the first choice for application in steel and stainless steels and excels when machining cast iron and HRSA materials.
These advantages result from a technological breakthrough in coating and substrate technology. The combination improves wear resistance and security, either when running at higher cutting speeds or for a longer time in cut. The coating is new, PVD with TiAIN layers, including properties designed for the GC1125’s wide application area. New, fine grained substrate optimised for steels and stainless steels has improved hardness and supports increases in cutting data.
GC1125 is a simpler option, enabling machine shops to do more with one grade. Its wide geometry range offers improved performance to a larger number of machining operations.
In parting, it is optimised for steels, stainless steels and HRSA materials, a first choice in CF and CR geometries. CF is the low feed choice, giving excellent chip control and surface finish, CR the strong geometry for parting off bars and interrupted cuts at high feeds.

DO-GRIP
First choice for parting. Double-ended inserts. Self clamped for deep grooving and large diameters. Screw clamped for small diameters.
SELF-GRIP
Single-ended insert for deep grooving and large diameters. Has a stopper for high radial accuracy.
CUT-GRIP
Single-ended insert. Self and screw clamped options. For tool users.
DO-GRIP for Swiss Automatics. The most economical, double-ended parting and grooving inserts in 1.0 - 3.0 mm (.039 - .118") widths that can be mounted on small shank 8, 10, and 12 mm (.315, .394, and .472") holders. The new design has a very short clamping head and with a slanted screw for convenient
indexing. These features are essential for operating on Swiss type automatic machines that have very limited space.
DO-GRIP is an optimal solution for grooving and parting of small shafts and tubes.

|
Sandvik Coromant is now extending its premium program of cutting tools for parting and grooving which will, no doubt, have great influence on machining productivity.
CoroCut 3 brings a third cutting edge to the shallow parting of tubes, bars and grooving operations. The extremely small parting widths in 2,0, 1,5 and 1,0 mm facilitates will reduce the raw material usage considerably.
The insert is held securely by a unique clamping solution ensuring accurate location and easy to use. This in combination with very tight indexing tolerances will produce workpieces with very close length tolerances.
Two dedicated insert geometries ensure peak performance and excellent surface finish in all workpiece materials. The very same holder can be used for all insert widths giving maximum versatility.
