Signal transmission in electronic applications and data communications is changing in a dramatic way. Cables now have to accommodate faster signal speeds over longer distances with less signal loss. Additionally, new shielding requirements to meet FCC RFI/EMI emission controls, tougher fire regulations required in plenum installations and demands for high-density wiring are factors which have been considered in creating many of Alpha's coaxial and data cable products. The products in this section are designed to meet these needs for safe and reliable transmission of voice, video or data.
A VARIETY OF COAXIAL PRODUCTS
Alpha coaxial products are supplied in a wide variety of impedance grades (and RG Types) for most voice, video and data applications. Our comprehensive line includes:
- Standard RG Coax For Commercial & Military Use
- 75 Ohm Precision Video Cables
- Dual Coax
- Networking Coax - Ethernet

Micro-Coax M-Flex is a high performance flexible cable that can be purchased in bulk on spools or reels. M-Flex is designed to match the line size of 0.141" or 0.0865" diameter semi-rigid cables, thus enabling use with a very wide variety of standard solder type connectors and stripping machines. Employing all of our microwave cable shielding know-how with a solid PTFE dielectric yields a very versatile cable for users who need or want the flexibility of attaching their own connectors.

UTiFLEX Ultralight Spaceflight cable assemblies are optimized for spaceflight applications. They provide the lightest weight, lowest insertion loss, and best
radiation resistance in a flexible cable construction. The cables utilize DuPont
Aracon® for the outer shield, an ultra low density PTFE for the dielectric, and
a black Tefzel® jacket. If required, cable assemblies are manufactured in a
Class 1,000 clean room by NASA Certified solder technicians. Additional
capabilities include, but are not limited to:
- NASA certified soldering to NASA-STD-8739.3 and J-STD-001C. Class 2 and Class 3.
- Class 10,000 and Class 1,000 clean rooms
- Multipaction resistant connector designs
- PIM free cable & connector materials
- Metallurgical lab with cross-sectional analysis & 100x magnification
- Real Time X-Ray Analysis

VNA UTiFLEX Test Cables from Micro-Coax are designed for use with high performance VNA systems when the absolute highest precision is required. Typically sold in matched pairs and supplied in a protected wooden case these assemblies perform to 40 or 65 Ghz and are optimized for phase and amplitude stability. They are more expensive than standard test cables, but are the ideal choice when precision repeatable measurements must be performed.

Axon' has designed a complete range of low loss microwave coaxial assemblies mainly used as measurement and equipment assemblies
as well as for antennae. In the aeronautics field, they are used for radar and surveillance systems.
Construction
- FEP or PU insulated coaxial cables terminated with SMA, N or TNC connectors
- A flexible stainless steel hose or spring and an insulation to resist crush (axolab®)
- Hybrid harnesses : they integrate various configurations of wires and terminations such as coaxials up to 40 GHz, high flex wires, shielded pairs, fibre optics, power cables, cables with optimised shielding, etc… and are connected to circular, miniature or coaxial connectors.
- High flex microwave assemblies : designed for high repetitive bending as required for dynamic applications (radar, surveillance or navigation systems).
Characteristics
- Temperature range : -55°C to + 125°C and -40°C to +95°C
- Operating frequency : 0 - 40 GHz (dependent on the type)
- Optimised insertion losses (2.45 dB/m for a frequency of 40 GHz)
- Shielding efficiency (> 100 dB for a frequency of 1 GHz)
- High bending strength for dynamic applications

SUCOFLEX 400
SUCOFLEX 400, the insertion loss revolution.
The new SUCOFLEX 400 microwave cable family has been specifically developed for applications on the ground for defence technology, medical and space measurement technology applications, where the lowest loss, highest performance, the best phase stability versus temperature and phase stability versus bending, excellent return loss and mechanical stability are of the utmost importance.
There will be a steady roll-out of SUCOFLEX 400 products for specific relevant markets starting with the SUCOFLEX 404 with straight male SMA connector, which is available now. The SUCOFLEX 406 including N and TNC straight male connectors will follow in February 2009. This cable will have the lowest loss of the family and thus be the lowest loss product up to 18 GHz on the market. During the course of 2009, the connector range will be expanded and followed by additional thinner versions with the lowest losses for frequencies up to 40 GHz, as well as additional jackets and armor for all kinds of applications. Current HF systems for defence, medical and space applications must comply with the highest demands, so it is essential that the accompanying connection components meet the highest standards too. The new SUCOFLEX 400 family meets these demands.

Our feeder cable family, RFA, has been designed to meet the highest technical standards. Enhanced electrical values, uniform impedance and low attenuation at high frequencies make RFA an optimal choice for all applications including UMTS and WiMAX. Our RFA cables are compatible with standard connectors and accessories.
We offer various RFA cable types: 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", 7/8", 1 1/4", 1 1/5", 2 1/4"
The unique two layer jacketing with harder HDPE surface and softer LDPE inside gives the RFA cables best protection in all installation environments without losing flexibility. In Draka feeder cables, the foam dielectric has an extremely high degree of expansion and a special skin layer for extra protection.

As the name implies, spline coaxial cable supports the center conductor via longitudinal splines of solid PTFE dielectric inside a solid metal tube. This results in excellent impedance matching, lightweight and low attenuation but limits the minimum cable diameter to approximately 0.250 inches. Spline cables are fully vent-able and when mated to vented connectors, they are excellent low loss transmission line solutions for vacuum environments such as spacecraft. Although spline cables are relatively expensive and require special care to bend and install, they offer the best overall electrical performance of any coaxial transmission line.

In one year, Amphenol Times Fiber Communications produces almost enough cable to reach from the earth to the moon and back. While 300ft winds through the walls of the average home, it can take close to 700ft threaded through the body of a car to support the newest automotive electronics systems including GPS, Bluetooth, satellite, cellular, and a broad array of safety systems.
