VITOCOLL unsupported transfer adhesive tapes and VITOCOLL double-side self-adhesive supported tapes are conceived for the adhesion and lamination of materials such as metals, plastics, glass and paper; in addition they are recommendable flor the adhesion of signboards, set forms, labels, emblems, badges, decorative battens and front plates/panels.
The very thin adhesive films (from 0,05 up to o,13 mm) permit the adhesion of thin materials without influencing substantially the total dimensional conception.
The capability characteristics of double-side self-adhesive
supported tapes differ in their characteristics in the first line by the applied supporting materials and they permit, for example, the coating of an adhesive tape with different adhesives on the respective sides - one side coated with a string adhesive and the other side coated with a low-tack andhesive.
The following adhesive tapes which, owing to their chemical composition, fulfil different technical requirements, are to be distinguished.
Pure acrylate - Modified acrylate - Synthetic rubber
As regards dimensions or other points of the various VITOCOLL qualitities, please refer to our produkt information.

Argweld® Weld Backing Tape
Extending the Argweld® range of purging products, Huntingdon Fusion Techniques Limited, are providing an economical non metallic weld backing system for the backing of welds, where purging is required but not easily achieved, for quality and for supporting weld roots to improve weld bead profiles.
Typically for the welding of thin wall stainless steel sheet and vessels from one side only, the backing tape can be attached to the backside of the weld, to support the weld pool, keep the argon from the weld torch surrounding the weld pool and eliminate the need to back purge, while giving a consistent high quality underbead profile.
For purging large vessels the tremendous savings of purge gas and waiting time, pays for the use of the backing tape many times over.
The high temperature heat resistant adhesive aluminium backing foil is 75mm (3") wide and in the centre is a heat resistant band of woven glass fibre cloth 25mm (1") wide.
The glass fibre cloth has a weight of 1000 grams per square metre.
The 80 Amp tape comes in rolls of 25m (80") length and the 160 Amp tape rolls are 12.5m (40") long.
The thickest cloth will support single pass welding at weld currents up to 240 Amps, without change to the chemistry or metallurgy of the weld.
Features:
Speeds up production
Provides back purge facility
Ideal for stainless steel and alloyed metals
Saves cleaning costs
Massive purge gas savings
Eliminates weld defects
Suitable for sheet, plate, pipes and vessels
For horizontal or vertical welding
No gouging or grinding
No re-welding or rework

CHO-FOIL® Metal Adhesive Tapes
CHO-FOIL tapes are an economical EMI shielding solution for a variety of commercial uses. The tapes are available in copper, aluminum, or tinned copper foil backed with Chomerics' highly conductive pressure-sensitive adhesive. Embossed versions are also available. CHO-FOIL copper tape meets the requirements of MIL-T-47012 and the tinned copper foil tape meets MIL-T-10727 for corrosion resistance.
CHO-FAB™ Fabric Tape
CHO-FAB tape is a corrosion-resistant, nickel-plated cloth, coated with Chomerics' highly conductive pressure-sensitive adhesive. The tape is extremely lightweight and has excellent conformability/wrapability to enhance shielding performance and appearance.
CHO-MASK® II Foil Tape with Peel-Off Mask
Easy-to-use CHO-MASK conductive foil tape provides a cost-effective alternative to chromate conversion coating, plating and conductive paints. It consists of a polyester paint mask covering a layer of tin-plated copper foil. The tape, which features a highly conductive pressure sensitive adhesive, is applied to metal frames, doors or panel surfaces where electrical continuity is required. After painting and baking, the peel-off mask is removed, exposing a clean foil surface with very low electrical through resistance.

# Most double sided tapes have good tack, yet allow for repositioning within a short time of application.
# Generally, double sided tapes are used indoors.
# Double sided tapes have a release liner that protects the tape until ready for use. The liners on Advance double sided tapes are made of siliconised paper which enable them to be peeled from the carrier easily.
# Double sided tapes should be stored at a temperature of no lower than +5°C. If a tape is left in an unheated van or unheated warehouse in the winter months, it may need time to warm up prior to application.
# Double sided tapes should be applied at between +10°C and +40°C.
# Surfaces should be as clean and dry as possible with any loose material and dust removed as far as possible.
# Note that one tape, AT324, has a differential adhesive system with one side designed to peel clean after short term contact with the substrate.
# When applying tape with a differential adhesive, careful note should be taken that the lower adhesion face is applied to the surface from which it needs to peel clean.

Double-sided tapes are developed specifically for defined bonding requirements. The interaction of backing material (filmic, non-woven, fabrics, various foams), adhesive system (acrylate or rubber based) and liner material (paper, foil) is critical in determining the best tape for your application.

VITO GLAZINGMOUNT 400 consists of a hight density double-side self-adhesive mixed cellular polyuethane foam -based adhesive.
Product characteristics:
Exclusive use of high-grade pure acrylate ensures excellent shear resistance on surfaces consisting of glass, steel and anodized aluminium. This tape excels by its paramount weathering resistance and by its outstanding resistance to ultra-violet radiation. The thermal conductivity value of VITO GLAZINGMOUNT 400 is favourably low (only 0,079W/m²K) and, consequently, contributes substantially to a reduction of the heat transfert within the glazhing system. It is compatible with all important commercially available structural glazing silicones from all leading producers such as - for example - Dow Corning, General Electric, Rhône-Poulenc and Wacker Chemie. This product has been successfully subjected to a test of applicability by the Institut für Fenstertechnik at Rosenheim. The report no. 507 20370 of 20.08.98 is available.
Dimensions: Thickness: 3,2 - 4,8 - 6,4 and 8,0 mm
Width: 6, 9, 12, 15 mm
Length: 15 and 1o m
The quality VITO GLAZINGMOUNT 350 is also available in a thickness of 9,5 mm.

* All cloth tapes are strong and offer good conformability
* All cloth tapes from Advance Tapes have non-corrosive adhesives keeping any reaction with the surface applied down to a minimum
* Some cloth tapes will peel clean from surfaces, usually polycoated tapes perform better in this respect although surfaces should be tested if this is critical
* If you wish to write on the tape for identification purposes, uncoated cloth tapes may be the best choice. Alternatively, tapes with a matt surface will perform better than gloss coated tapes. Please request a sample to test if this is an important factor in choosing the tape
* Cloth tapes should be applied at between +10°C and +40°C
* Surfaces should also be as clean and dry with any loose material and dust removed as far as possible
* Tapes should be stored at a temperature of no lower than +5°C. If tape is left in a van or unheated warehouse in the winter months, it will need time to warm up prior to application
* The most popular colours for cloth tapes are black, silver and white. For a much wider range of colours, polycoated tapes offer the best choice.
