Synrad’s original “all-metal” tube technology opened the door for sealed CO2 lasers in many industrial applications. After 20 years, it remains the industry standard for performance, reliability, long lifetime and low cost. The laser tube is a rigid box structure design that provides an ultra-stable platform for the laser resonator. Synrad’s
48-series tubes are mounted into an H-shaped heat sink extrusion that also serves as the chassis for the drive electronics. This guarantees that the laser will withstand the harsh requirements of modern industrial environments.
Based on a waveguide design, Synrad’s v-series resonator technology guarantees a circular beam (typical M2 <1.1) in both the near field and far field. This near-perfect beam can be focused to the smallest achievable spot size, thereby creating the maximum possible power density on a work surface. This results in faster processing speeds and higher resolution for cutting or engraving applications.
The long cavity length provides an inherent power and wavelength stability advantage over many of today’s CO2 laser solutions. Synrad’s Evolution series, available in 100, 125, 200 and 240 watts, excel in such applications as “Kiss-Cutting” of multi-layer material, semiconductor wafer processing, and thin-film welding.
Maximum power and performance from an air-cooled CO2 laser is the drive behind our firestar t-series technology. Synrad’s firestar t-series lasers are built on technology using a patented hybrid-unstable resonator design. This creates a compact laser with excellent beam quality that can be focused to the smallest achievable spot size, delivering the maximum possible power density on a work surface. The result is faster processing speeds, higher resolution and optimized quality for cutting, marking and engraving applications.
Certain applications may experience improved efficiency at wavelengths other than the standard 10.6µm wavelength. For these, Synrad offers the 48-1, 48-2, and firestar v30 lasers in 9.3µm wavelength models. The 9.3µm series is useful for processing materials that are highly absorptive of this wavelength, such as Kapton, PET, and others.
Like all Synrad lasers, the 9.3µm series is based on our rugged, all-metal sealed tube design to ensure long operating lifetimes and optimum performance.

The laser heads utilise an invar rod frame to support the laser resonator and ensure a high degree of passive stability. The lasers have manually controlled diffraction gratings for line selection and piezo mounted output couplers for fine control of cavity length. All laser tubes are water-cooled. The inner walls of the laser tubes are specially profiled to suppress off axis oscillations and to ensure that the lowest order mode transverse mode dominates. The low gas pressure and hence narrow gain profile supports only single longitudinal mode (SLM) operation. Polarised output. Excellent passive stability of amplitude and frequency exists. Active stabilisation is available as optional.

General Overview :
Coherent's DIAMOND C-Series CO2 lasers are the best power - size ratio available in the market, based on a waveguide design assembled in an integrated package. The RF driver is mounted in the same housing as the laser head, resulting in a compact, robust system that can operate in the most demanding environments.
Delivering 30W, 40W, 55W or 70W output at 10.6 microns, the DIAMOND C-30, C-40, C-55 and the C-70 are available as either air-cooled or water-cooled units. The entire DIAMOND C-Series offers excellent power stability, a great mode and fast rise and fall times in a very compact size. Both DIAMOND C-30 & C-40, and DIAMOND C-55 & C-70 have the same length. Height and width is the same to the whole DIAMOND C-Series family, which simplifies integration design of the complete Coherent cw product series.
The DIAMOND C-40 and C-70 are available in both elliptical and circular beam versions. Overall, the DIAMOND C-Series low-power CO2 lasers deliver exceptional value, performance and reliability.
Key applications for these lasers are marking i.e. of beverages, PCB boards, electronics, engraving and laser sintering. In addition these lasers are used in converting applications like laser scoring of flexible packages and medical applications.

Gas consumption is low as 20Nl/h and has a footprint of only 1600x1600x1600mm³. The laser is controlled by a Siemens controller equipped with standard teleservice via internet, is designed for ease of maintenance, the laser is standard delivered with integrated beam shaping optics for matching to the resonator and the application. This laser is the ideal source to be integrated on an excisting or a new laser machine or as stand alone unit for all kind of laser applications.
On top this laser equiped with highest standards for optical and electrical standards is economically low priced and has a world-wide after sales service back-up.
The HLT6000 is currently running reliability tests. It has a rated output power of 6kW and a maximum of 7200W. Due to its long, slim resonator it produces a low-order, high quality beam suitable for sheet and plate cutting. Attached to a high-dynamics machine, it can be used to exploit the advantages of increased processing speed in sheet metal. Alternatively, it can be interfaced to a large-area plate cutting machine.
HLT3500 is a high-power, Class IV CO2 laser with a rated output power of 3500W and a maximum of 4kW. The laser radiation has a wavelength of 10.6mm and as such is invisible to the human eye. To facilitate alignment with external mirrors, a visible Class IIIA green laser diode pointer is standard and pre-aligned with the main beam. The visible beam is only present with closed shutter, and hence no accidents can occur since the main beam is always blocked when the pilot beam is visible.
The HLT8000 is in a design phase and will be optimised for maximum power. It has a single-layer, larger-bore resonator. It will be suited for high-speed, deep-penetration (keyhole) welding, cladding and laser surface treatment.

The helium neon laser was the first laser to be used in volume applications. Currently, there are millions of HeNe lasers in the field, and only the semiconductor diode laser is produced in greater volume. The key to the HeNe's success has been its low cost, small size, long operating life (as much as 50,000 operating hours), and unsurpassed beam quality. HeNe lasers produce milliwatts of output power and are available in a variety of wavelengths ranging from 543 nm (green) to 1.523 ìm (infrared). The most common wavelength is the familiar 633 nm (red). These lasers are small, convection cooled, and can be operated from ordinary household power or even from batteries.
The CL-200 Series is the original line generating laser. These lasers generate a 5 milliwatt (633.3 nm) ruby red line to illuminate a variety of cutting applications.
Although the HeNe lasers were state of the art when they were introduced, they are now being replaced with the newer, less expensive, solid state diode technology. The diode lasers are much smaller and easier to install, therefore, the cost of a diode diode, in most cases, is less than what it would cost to repair a HeNe laser.

High-power, Class IV CO2 lasers with a rated output power from 3500W to 8000W.
Explicitly developed and manufactured for use in industry, they are completely modular in nature, which minimizes downtime due to ease of maintenance. All external optics necessary to transform the raw laser beam into a collimated, circularly polarised beam suitable for cutting are incorporated in the design. Also, the resonator is protected from back-reflections from the work piece.
