RIVSET® Self-pierce Riveting Systems
The RIVSET® Self-pierce riveting systems for automated production consist of three systems, which are adapted for different production environments. Robot-guided handling of the component or of the setting tool and the integration into a complete installation or also manual operation can be implemented.
The RIVSET® MBF and MTF self-pierce riveting systems are basically identical in design; they only differ in terms of the type of professional rivet feed: The RIVSET® MBF processes loose self-pierce rivets; for the RIVSET® MTF, the self-pierce rivets are fed from a professional belt magazine. Both systems are primarily used in manual production. Both systems offer the option of communicating with professional robots or a higher-level system controller.
The RIVSET® ABF system is orientated toward the highest demands of automated production. Its fields of application generally include mass production, e.g. in the automotive industry and the white goods industry.
The RIVSET® ABF processes loose self-pierce rivets and offers the following functions:
- Complete process monitoring and the transparent documentation of process data
- Rivet length control
- Touch-screen display
- Short cycle times |

RIVSET® Self-Piercing Riveting Systems
Bollhoff have three systems that are designed for different fields of application.
The RIVSET® HTF is a universal battery-operated handheld device for RIVSET® rivets with a diameter of 3 or 5 mm.
Fields of application:
- on construction sites
- in prototype construction
- as a re-working solution
- for repairs
For smaller volume applications, the RIVSET® CTF is suitable for processing belt-magazine self-pierce rivets. This system allows for a quick change of different professional rivet geometries and is suitable for all types of RIVSET® rivets. The RIVSET® CTF is reliable and maintenance-friendly due to its simple construction.
The RIVSET® EBF self-pierce riveting system is suitable for processing loose RIVSET® self-pierce type rivets for smaller volume applications. Even the smallest rivet geometries (3 x 4 mm/3 x 5 mm) can be fed in a process-stable manner via a blast of air. The feed of the respective rivet geometries is accomplished via a drum separator, which ensures quick and gentle separation. The EBF system stands out due to its compact construction. It is designed for quick installation and commissioning as a "turn-key" solution. |

New Orbital Forming Head Improves Longevity and Capacity
Orbitform’s Gold Series offers a substantial increase in forming force and bearing life over previous heads!
Until now an orbital head’s life expectancy was measured in months. With Orbitform’s new Gold Series, the components can last for years (based on bearing life calculations for standard orbital heads).
The Gold Series incorporates a stack of angular contact manufacturer of bearings as the primary forming element, as opposed to a single row of bearings found in standard heads. This arrangement greatly increases the allowable thrust load, sometimes over tenfold. Besides advantages in efficiency and longevity, the redesigned orbital heads are the right choice for jobs that require additional capacity in a smaller envelope i.e., multi-spindle heads / close center applications.
The Gold Series can replace all brands of orbital heads and provides:
• Zero maintenance with “lubed for life” bearings
• Longer production life and increased forming capacity
(up to 19 times over standard heads)
• .005 inch runout accuracy
• Ability to ¬¬¬handle short/long cycles, hard materials, and multiple production shifts.
