Axial piston variable displacement pumps, Series 20, are of swash plate design with variable flow capability uitable for hydrostatic transmissions with closed circuit.
The flow rate is in proportional relation with the input pump speed and continuously variable displacement, which, in turn, is determined by the swash plate angle and is adjustable between zero and maximum value of the displacement. Flow direction is reversed by a tilting of the swash plate to the opposite side of the neutral or zero displacement position.

|
Variable displacement axial piston pumps of swash plate design series 3K-10 are designed for various applications working in closed hydrostatic circuit.
Fluid flow is in proportional relation with speed and displacement of pump, which can be increased with changes of swash plate angle from zero to maximum. Standard pump is equipped with internal charge pump - G-rotor type, manifold assembly with block of flushing and two pressure relief valves on the high pressure ports. Relief valves protect the hydrostatic transmission from overloads. Standard pump is equipped with mechanical - hydraulic servo valve with mechanical feedback. Tightness of the case around the exiting part of the shaft is protected by the shaft seal for max. pressure 0,25 MPa (intermittent 0,5 MPa).

The InLine variable displacement pump type V30D and V30E work according to the swash plate principle and are intended for open circuit operation in industrial and mobile hydraulics. There is also an option for a thru-shaft for flange mounting additional variable and fixed displacement pumps. Type V30E is intended as successor of V30D, where the completely new development allowed to realize state of the art pump design. This concerns primarily the optimization of self-suction speed rating, minimized noise level, weight, and pulsation as well as increased service life.
These pumps are suited for a wide range of applications due to their low running noise and various pump controllers.
Hydraulic circuits where several outlet flows are required can be fed either by one individual pump or a multiple pump. Main benefit of these pumps are the sturdy design, the good performance/weight ratio, long service life
due to oversized bearings, and the swash plate angle indicator.

M Series pumps are open circuit, axial piston designs. A variety of controls provides the ability to match the pumps to each application.
A strong, proven rotating group allows the pumps to handle pressures to 280 bar (4000 psi) continuous and 320 bar (4600 psi) intermittent - with less maintenance cost. Each frame can also contain a 230 bar (3300 psi) higher flow rotating group that provides additional application flexibility. High-load bearings and a stiff drive shaft help provide a pump life of 30,000 hours (@ 65% rated pressure), reducing operating costs and extending machine life.
M Series pumps feature a saddle-type yoke with steel-backed polymer bearings. The stiff yoke reduces deflection and allows even loading of bearings, improving life. A single control piston reduces loading on the yoke, resulting in reduced pump size that allows installation in tighter locations.
M Series pumps operate at a level of quietness that exceeds the requirements of today's demanding industrial conditions. The pumps feature a unique three-piece envelope (flange, housing and valve block) specifically created for low fluid-borne and structureborne noise levels. Another pump feature - a bimetal timing plate - improves pump filling characteristics that, in turn, reduces fluid-borne noise and extends pump life.

Capacity to control minimum displacement
The DELTA pumps are designed to regulate flow from maximum flow to flow cancellation mode. However, some applications require a minimum outlet flow to be maintained, regardless of how flow is controlled from maximum to minimum.
Capacity to have a high speed rotation
The rotating speed of the DELTA pumps depends on:
• flow supplied by the pump,
• the fluid viscosity,
• the pressure at inlet point of the pump.
For applications at higher speeds than those indicated, please contact our Technical Department with details of these parameters, to enable us to advise what can be recommended.
■ Features of DELTA pumps
The DELTA pumps are equipped with a maximum displacement control.

A majority of the variable piston pumps on the
market were designed decades ago, and very
few modifications have been made since then.
When Parker Hannifin decided to develop a new line of
variable piston pumps for the mobile market, it was
obvious to us that we needed to listen to and understand
our markets. We needed to get our hands around the
latest requirements and move the development forward.
Instead of starting the design work at the drawing board,
we went out to our customers and asked them what
characteristics they required from a new pump. Very
soon, the most important requirements became obvious.
OEM’s were looking for pumps that were easy and
inexpensive to install, had a low noise level, lasted a long
time, had a high self-priming speed and were equipped
to handle future pump controls.
With this in mind, our product team went to work on
perfecting our new line of pumps. The result: the new
Variable Piston Pump Series P2/P3.

The variable volume and pressure compensated design simplifies circuit design, and reduces heat buildup and noise. Four pump control options permit the designer to choose the most efficient means to power his hydraulic equipment. Choices include the standard pressure compensator control, remote pressure control, load sensing control, and horsepower limiting control.
Brass piston slippers pivot and rotate to equalize wear while a fluid passage through the slipper reduces loading and provides lubrication for the piston shoe and wear plate. Hardened swash plate and trunnion pins provide rugged support for the piston block and associated rotating group components.
Efficiently designed porting reduces noise at all pressure and flow levels for quiet, efficient operation that eliminates the need for noise shrouds. The rugged, cast iron body is thicker at stress points which contributes to quiet operation.
Specifications

Recommended Fluids:
Petroleum based fluids are recommended. Fluids should be designated by the fluid manufacturer for use in hydraulic systems. Fluids should contain inhibitors to prevent rust and oxidation and should contain anti-wear, anti-foam, and deaerating agents. For other fluid types, please contact your Continental Hydraulics representative.
Recommended Operating Viscosity
Petroleum based fluids:
Optimum - 140 sus (30 Cst.)
Continuous Minimum - 60 sus (10 Cst.)
Continuous Maximum - 750 sus (160 Cst.)
Max cold start up 7500 SUS
Fluid Cleanliness - ISO 18-16-13 is recommended
Operating Temperature - Operating temperature is determined by the viscosity characteristics of the fluid used. Control operating temperature as needed to assure that fluid viscosity is within acceptable limits. Because high temperatures degrade seals, reduce the service life of the fluid, and create scalding hazards, fluid temperatures should not exceed 180° F. (82° C.) at the case drain.
Mounting Position - Unrestricted. However, horizontal mounting is preferred.
Relief valves are recommended for all applications to help protect personnel and the system from potentially damaging overloads
